Description

The Ghost of Cassiopeia (IC 63) and IC 59 are both faint reflection and emission nebulae located close to the bright star in the image, gamma Cas or Navi, which is the middle star in the W shape of the constellation Cassiopeia. They are about 610 light years away from us.
Both nebulae are faint (at about +10 magnitude) and Navi is about +2.15 magnitude so it can be a challenge imaging them in the same field. The nebulae are about 3 light years away from Navi although 'The Ghost' is slightly closer making it higher in Hydrogen alpha emission than it's neighbouring nebula.
