Description

For a bit of fun (I need to get out more) I put together this composite image featuring about 40 fields from the ABC survey currently in progress against a 50mm shot looking SE from my observatory, over the vineyard to the mountains.   The Milky Way is shown as it would be in the early ours of an August morning [registered using a short exposure taken at that time] chosen so that the great galactic Kiwi is just "touching down" on the mountains, and the bright nebulae from the Dragons of Ara to the Serpent are all visible in the field of view.

It also makes me realise just how lucky I am to be able to pursue my passion in such a wonderful [and dark] place.
