Not a great image but I'm happy with it.  Still learning planetary imaging, it’s fun but has a lot of trial-and-error and I’ve discovered the processing can be just as tricky and tedious as deep sky. This image is with an old 1975-76 C8, back when it was ‘Celestron Pacific’. I’ve been using it because I haven’t been able to get a good image with my C14, they all turn out soft and blurry.  I get better results with my C8 under identical conditions, I don’t know why.  Both scopes are 1976 vintage.  The C8 is older and doesn’t even have coatings on the corrector, glass only.  Either the C14 has a problem or I’m doing something wrong, likely the latter.  I welcome any suggestions.

I didn’t use FireCapture because I didn’t want to sit outside with my laptop and the mosquitos, so I used the video mode on my ASIAIR and sat inside with my phone.I did forty 60 second videos at ~50 to 60 frames per second, stacked 45% of each .asi video with autostakkert, did some light wavelets with Registax then converted the ASIAIR file name date to WinJupos file name date and stacked the 40 .png files with WinJupos.
