Description

NGC6727 and its neighbours form a collection of reflection and dark nebulae in constellation Corona Australis.
Hot young stars illuminate material of the Corona Australis Molecular Cloud, which is one of our closest star forming regions, at about 500 light years.
The glowing red arcs visible below and to the left of NGC6729 are associated with Herbig Haro objects HH100 and HH101N.
HH objects are formed by jets of material ejected from the accretion disks of young forming stars exciting the surrounding gas.
