Description

This is my first deep sky image. Looking forward to improving my skills!

The Rosette Nebula is a massive diffuse nebula with dense areas of gas and dust, known as Bok globules, located in the Monoceros constellation. It is approximately 5000 light years away and more than 1 degree across. The central open star cluster contains very hot young stars discovered by John Flamsteed in 1690. The star cluster, with an apparent magnitude of 4.8, can be seen by the naked eye in good viewing conditions.
