Description

First light of QHY268M. I switched from the 294 to 268 and after weeks of bad weather, it cleared enough to shoot some data. NGC1555 is positioned perfectly for full night runs at it.
I also had to redo collimation of the scope (The collimation was messed up when I was trying to fix secondary focuser and caused weird stars and flares). I am satisfied now the collimation with no more multi colored stars!

I decided to stick with a single target before the weather invariably goes bad this time of the year here . So this is the last image of 2023!  Happy with how it turned out.
I used high gain mode in the camera as well and it calibrates perfectly. Very clean indeed - Loving the camera so far. The one interesting thing I am noticing is the faint extra diffraction spikes on the bright star. Almost like a camera micro lens diffraction. I need to check this more in detail in other images.

Always wanted to shoot this but between unstable weather around this time of the year and other targets I never managed to shoot this.  Love the reflection portion with dark dust in the background. With a slow scope at F9, it is challenging to pull the dust out but I think I managed to my satisfaction this time around (The high gain mode probably helped a lot here as well).
This target is typically a wide-field or midfield target with its large dust structure. But with my FOV, it gets pretty close to the reflection region and gives a good look at the reflection portion.

I shot this all last week (with L most of the time and threw out almost 40% of data). Managed to pick up RGB in the last couple of super dewy nights!
