Description

After a LRGB version with the data acquired during the NAT2023 star party event, I kept on acquiring data during some too few nights since then.
I finished acquired some RGB data during new moon on June 24th, I decided to go for a version with all of this.

Trifid Nebula has always been a special objet to me, my first astronomy book was this one :

Edited in 1981-1982, I carefully took of the plastic that has been protected the book for more than 40 years to take this picture :-)
It was written by Colin A.Ronan and 40 years later, I am always amazed to see what each of us can do individually today with astrophotography.

A total of 13H :
- 8 hours in Ha
- 1 hours in L, R and G
- 2 hours for B

Luminance based on Ha which has been enhanced in Linear with B, G and L data for the reflection and the dark nebulas, I am very happy of what I decided to do on this part.
Coulours and stars from RGB, M20 is a kind of monster and RGB data are enough, no need to boost the R channel with Ha data.

I tried to get a Ha - RGB combination where I keep the advantage of Ha acquisition (very helpful, especially with a target at such a low altitude) and still get the "feeling" of RGB with thousands of stars everywhere and "natural" coulours.

This picture is a tribute to the author of the book and all the people worldwide that spend their time and energy sharing their passion and knowledge for the others.

There are a lot of these people in this forum, thanks :-)

For me, at meridian, M20 is at 22° max... so I am very happy to be able to get this result on this gorgeous nebula.
I chose the full APS-C field of view that allows to see a part of M21 and SHS-128;  I hope you will like it.
