Description

Space brain!  I also never noticed before the OIII bubbles being blown by the star in the middle of the nebula.  The bright star at the center of the brightest bubble is HD41997, an O7.5 star.  The expanding blowout bubbles to the north of that are not apparently cataloged as anything, although the center of the biggest bubble is listed as a radio source.  I would guess it is ionized gas being swept up by the stellar wind from the O star and pushing against the surrounding medium, forming the main bubble (which I think is called a Stromgren sphere).  Then that sphere is punctured on the north side, so the ionized gas can flow outward as the larger bubbles.  Or it's some synapses in the space brain.
