Description

This Spring I decided not to put the 8 Edge HD onto my mount and shoot some galaxies at F/7, as it's a pain changing everything over, and a struggle to get enough data with increasingly short nights here. So I've stuck with my RASA rig, and largely avoided galaxies, as I don't feel that's its strength. Problem is, as the milky way disappears under my northern sightlines, what else to shoot in the early part of the short night? Well, I've done quite a lot of polar area IFN shots...

After a bit, I guess they all look the same! This one is a 3 panel mosaic on the borders of Cepheus and Draco that includes a small area categorised by Beverly Turner Lynds as LBN569, and I've stretched to within an inch of its life in order to try and make it more interesting. I had to massively de-saturate the colour due to gradients that came up with the heavy stretch, and also had to fiddle around a bit with approaches to controlling noise and blotchiness. Anyway, didn't seem worth spending too many hours on it, so here it is.
