Description

Once again I imaged the moon at twilight with the C11, Hyperstar and ZWO ASI 1600MC. This capture was made in twilight and I find the crescent moon against the blue of the twilight sky to be rather beautiful.

If this aspect looks odd to Northern Hemisphere viewers, it is because the image was acquired in the southern hemisphere where, when facing west, the ecliptic arches up to the right towards the north. Therefore the arc of the crescent angles towards bottom left. In the Northern Hemisphere the ecliptic angles to the left towards the south when you face west so the crescent of the moon angles towards the bottom right.
