Description

Messier 109 (NGC 3992) is a barred, spiral galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781.

M 109 is calculated 83.5 million light years from Earth, 13.25 billion years old, with a population of 1 trillion stars.
