Description

"THE HEART OF THE ROSE"
- Deepsky 1665mm LRGBhA
- Area Constellation Monoceros

The Rosette Nebula is a diffuse emission nebula with an embedded open star cluster in the constellation Unicorn. The nebula has a size of 80.0' × 60.0' and an apparent magnitude of 6.0 mag. Distance to Earth, a good 5000 light years. The open star cluster NGC 2244 lies in the center. gases are illuminated by the surrounding stars, giving us this wonderful sight, the rose of the night sky 🙂
