Description

Due to the prominent position of the Milkyway during the summer months, two bright narrowband targets where chosen to be imaged by the BAT. One of these targets was the Pillar's of Creation. Due to being Hubble's most iconic narrowband image, BAT members quickly tried to match Hubbles sharpness as closely as possible. First attempts of Lucky Imaging and many sharpening techniques were performed on this data. Although it quickly became apparent, that Hubble most certainly still had quite an upper hand over astrophotographers, the results of this target further motivated the use of Lucky Imaging in astrophotography.

This image contains a combination of several bat member's M51 data.
