A spacewalk around
NGC 1788, really ?
I am pleased to share with you my
second project ever since I got my new rig installed at El Sauce Observatory in Chile. The truth is, I am getting quite addicted to the epsilon 160ed ! This instrument is quite amazing. However, the story is a bit different with ther filters that I use along with the scope... bear with me, you will understand the reason.
Processing wise, I was expecting an easy "spacewalk" with no big rocks to move but the reality was a bit different: I spent (or lost) 40% of my processing time (if not more) trying to correct and / or enhance the big stars in the FOV. They are so glowing and with ******* halos ! Have a look at the image below. How could we let such uggly things be part of our images ?
In short, quite a nightmare for my eyes knowning that I am quite allergic to either eggy shaped stars or just to anything that resemble to something but stars (but should be stars).
Long story short, this wasn't really a spacewalk. But in the end, I managed to get myself to a point where I started to get satisfied with the final rendering. And this is what matters most.
The published image is a Ha-LRGB combination.
