First light with the ZWO ASI533MC Pro camera. Due to the small size of the target and I focus pretty much on widefield nebulae imaging; I incorporated a Nikon 1.4x teleconverter into the optical train to give me a final FL of 535mm. The issue was that I noticed a sign of a back focus issue that I have not seen with my ASI2600MC when used with the same telescope (without the teleconverter). Still, as long as one does not zoom in too far, it is easy to overlook the potential back focus issue.
Like many other imagers, I notice the Optolong L-Extreme dual narrowband filter does create pronounced halos around bright stars. Looks like I will be moving to an Antlia 5nm dual narrowband filter as soon as my nearest supplier has inventory.
I used James Lamb’s Pixel Math algorithms to blend the stars and starless versions of the image. Ref.
