Description

I was able to image IC 1805 (also known as the Heart Nebula or the Running Dog Nebula) in December of 2020 with my 90mm Stellarvue refractor and a F5.6 focal reducer.
IC 1805 is an emission nebula in Cassiopeia and is about 7,500 light years from Earth. It forms a famous complex with its smaller neighbor (Westerhout 5 also know as the Soul Nebula). The pair are know as the Heart and Soul. It was an almost full Moon that night but Cassiopeia was far enough away to limit interference. Even with that, I still ended up not using several sub frames.

I am still learning PixInsight so this was a good object to work with.
