Description

NGC6946 is a barred spiral located in the constellation of Cepheus. With an apparent magnitude of 8.8, it should be very bright. But being face-on and shaded by dusts near the galactic plate, it is somewhat fainter. The galacy rather looks in my eyes like a clown head with feather decorations, a pointed nose, a big laughing mouth and a glowing yellow eye. Dataset acquired by @blackrig , truly high-quality data, did not expect 2 h each of RGB channels exposure could offer so much detail and high SNR in regard to colors. Thanks a lot for sharing this amazing set of data.
