Description

This has been one of the targets that I never managed to complete. This is quite low for us (30N) and rises directly into the light dome.  It also has a very sparse starfield to guide well on.

This year, I started shooting narrowband and managed to collect a bunch of Ha (36x15 mins) and OIII (24x15). However, the sky conditions were bad and the signal was quite weak. The high dust/smoke killed transparency.  I started collect L and RGB and liked the way the starfield looks. With gold stars and blue central white dwarf. There are few galaxies visible as well.  The fingers of dust going away from the nebula are also visible in L (though it shows up better in Ha) .

I wanted to go really deep on it (Some galaxy clusters are visible in the fainter region below). However , with tropical storm Nicholas + a waxing moon shut down imaging )

Having unguided imaging option really helped as I didn't have to mess with guiding on low snr guide stars (which was a major problem the last time I tried).

Ended up L  -  44x10 minutes and R/G/B of 12x10 minutes each.
