Description

This reflection and dark nebula is one I had on my list from last Fall/Winter that I failed to capture. I spent the tail end of two nights capturing it with the RASA8 after Cygnus targets were completed for the night.

This feature sits near M45 in within the Taurus Molecular Cloud. The main formation measures 2-3 light years and is located 400 light years from Earth. I was pleased to capture some of the projections of the brown Bok globule at the top of the eagles head. I find the Bok Globule and the central evacuation the projects as the eagle fascinating. I further find the arc of dust through the top part of the neck and even  fainter arc through the orange star immediately above the head to be quite curious.
