My second collaboration on a project and it is from the same place as my first one and in both cases it is a result of gear problems me and Uroš Fink had that night. With this image I was planning for stacking only and maybe star trails. After a few shots I left the camera to do its thing... Well, this was the plan anyway, but my dummy battery + power bank decided otherwise and when I came back, the camera was off.
So, with only photos of the foreground and a few "useless" photos of the sky, I decided to use sky images captured by Uroš Fink, who was shooting the same composition just a few meters away from me. Even though now this image is a combination of different lenses (Tamron 15-30 @15mm in vertical orientation + Sigma 20mm in portrait orientation), I matched the position and scale of both photos, to keep things as close to reality as possible.
One the reasons why it took me so long to edit this one is that I consider myself a bit of a purist (everything must be done in the same night, same orientation in regards of sky/landscape, just the tracker can be ON/OFF), but I liked this foreground way too much and it was fun to do the first collaboration, so why not do it again.
