Description

From Wikipedia and ESO:
NGC247 is one of the closest spiral galaxies of the southern sky.  It is part of the Sculptor Group, the nearest group of galaxies to the Milky Way and our Local Group.  NGC247 is just over 11.1 million light-years distant.
NGC247 has an unusually large void on one side of its spiral disk. This void contains some older, redder stars but no younger, bluer stars.

Acquired on every clear night between 2023-07-16 and 2023-08-18.

This image is the first result of my adventures with PixInsight.  So much to learn, so little time.
