Description

The California Nebula (NGC1499) is a large  emission nebula situated in the Perseus constellation and is about 1000 light years from Earth. It is about 2.5 degrees across which is about 5 full Moon widths.

Taken on 21 Oct 2021 (Ha - 100% Moon) and 01 Nov 2021 (OIII) from my Bortle 5 back garden with a Redcat 51 (250mm focal length) and ASI 1600 MM mono camera on an Ioptron Skyguider Pro, no auto guiding.

100 x 120s Hydrogen alpha + 120 x 102s OIII subs stacked in APP and processed in Startools and Gimp/Affinity.
