Description

I'm really not sure Caroline (Herschel) would want my rose, which is full of thorns - rather poor seeing, problems with vignetting which I was not able to remove with my flat frames (ongoing) and insufficient integration to provide the colour and depth that this lovely cluster deserves. Lying around 8000 LY away, it contains a number of prominent red giants.

Captured in Envisage, aligned and stacked in ASTAP and processed in Startools with aggressive wipe to try and remove vignetting, and some dimming of the starfield and saturation of the brighter stars. No guiding was used with these short exposures.
