Description

The Retina Nebula IC 4406 is a bright, but rather small Planetary Nebula in the constellation Lupus. Early images by the Hubble Space Telescope show just the inner part of the nebula which has a rectangular shape. More recent observations by the VLT reveal the peanut shape of the brighter part of the nebula, as well as very dim circular shells around the center of the nebula. The inner shell just starts to become visible in my image, taken with the 24" RC (CHI-1 Telescope) and the new CMOS camera of Telescope Live at Chile.
