Description

My version of the Pacman Nebula (NGC 281)... photographed over three nights for a total of 14 hrs. and 25 mins of exposure time from a Bortle Class 6 sky.
------------------------
NGC 281 is a bright emission nebula approximately 9500 light-years from Earth and part of a Hydrogen-alpha region in the northern constellation of Cassiopeia and is part of the Milky Way's Perseus Spiral Arm. The nebula contains several Bok globules and the multiple star, B 1. Colloquially, NGC 281 is also known as the Pacman Nebula for its resemblance to the video game character.
Edward Emerson Barnard discovered the nebula in August 1883.
