Description

This is an interesting area of dark and reflection nebulae in the constellation Serpens. I am back from vacation and a healthy backlog of data has been accumulating from the remote sites while I was away.  Here is the first finished project.

I feel like I have been collecting data on this one forever, although it only spanned two dark cycles.  Clear nights have been few and far between down in Chile and Seeing has been consistently poor.  Also, I am still in the learning curve for this new rig.  Working against those two variables, this one was a challenge to capture and process.

I was not happy with the data I collected last month so I added a bunch of data this month when the clouds finally broke last week.  During the August dark cycle I captured the area with the much faster FSQ that is piggybacked on the RiDK.  That wide field image can be found here https://www.astrobin.com/ga5vig/H/

I am looking forward to those famous clear and stable nights in the Atacama desert.  Hopefully, not too far away now.

Thanks for stopping by.
