Description

Arp 264 or ngc 3104, an odd little irregular galaxy, classified by Halton Arp into the 'irregular clumps' group. The galaxy is faint, mag 13.1, mean surface brightness 16.2 and quite small 3.5' x 2.5', the faint outer diffuse material is much fainter and more difficult.

There is a faint quasar, mag 19.6 indicated on my image and another diametrically opposite ngc 3104 but unfortunately out of the field of view in my image.

40 x 120sec exposures through my 10" newt.
