Description

M56 or NGC 6779 if you prefer? Another globular cluster this time in the constellation Lyra. Discovered by Charles Messier 1779. Approximately 32,900 light-years from Earth and 84 light-years across, with a combined mass some 230,000 times that of our Sun.

Apart from the globular cluster itself, this area of the sky it litered with stars. It never ceases to amaze me just how many star you can find in such a small patch of the sky!!!
