Description

Very short animation of surface activity from 2023-06-02. The animation consists of 5 frames within a duration of 8 minutes. As seen there is a very fast flare and it was already in process by the time I saw it. The longer thin plasma jet on the right was already collapsing by the time I started the animation. The seeing was better than average.
If my calculations are correct, the central jet is moving at about 27,000 miles per hour. The small thin jet measures about 4,000 miles. The horizontal scale is about 12,000 miles.

If you’re interested in a bit more about me and the telescope, feel free to watch a presentation that I gave to The Astro Imaging Channel (awesome site) on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm5boF-5hpc&t=3370s
