Description

Alerted by Juan Carlos of UniversoMagico that there was something unusual going one here in my previous image, so I came back with the C11 to get a bit more detail. I left it in grey scale so you could see the detail.

This object is only about 40-50 arcseconds across... if my calculations are right... gotta love that Edge C11.

Processing is only:  BlurX; NoiseX; GHS applied 3 times.

Juan Carlos' map is a guide:

Avedisova says that Sh 2-186 is ionised by the B0 III giant Hiltner 102 and is part of the Cas OB7 association. It contains the infrared cluster +51][BDS2003] 51. [Blue Above]

Abstract

We carried out a survey of infrared star clusters and stellar groups on the 2MASS J, H and Ks all-sky release Atlas in the Northern and Equatorial Milky Way (350deg < l < 360 deg, 0deg < l < 230 deg). The search in this zone complements that in the Southern Milky Way (Dutra et al. \cite{Dutra03}a). The method concentrates efforts on the directions of known optical and radio nebulae. The present study provides 167 new infrared clusters, stellar groups and candidates. Combining the two studies for the whole Milky Way, 346 infrared clusters, stellar groups and candidates were discovered, whereas 315 objects were previously known. They constitute an important new sample for future detailed studies.
