Description

Another pretty faint Arp galaxy, this time NGC 2633 or Arp 80.

Arp 80 is a 12th-magnitude spiral galaxy in Camelopardalis, about 100 million light years away and about 65 thousand light years across.

Arp 80 is classed as a spiral galaxy with a large high surface brightness companion, but there is no sign of a companion either on my image or the Arp plate for that matter, so not entirely sure what Halton Arp meant by this one.

The entire field is actually permeated by the Integrated Flux Nebula but there is no sign of it in my image which is a very short exposure, 26 minutes only.

Taken in 2011 with my 10" Newtonian.
