Description

SH2-86 is a nebula located in the constellation of Vulpecula, some distance away from the more well-known Dumbbell Nebula. Embedded within SH2-86 are several young stars and star clusters that illuminate the surrounding gas, making it visible to telescopes. Its intricate patterns and filamentary structures are testament to the complex processes at play in these cosmic nurseries.  After many processing runs and different colour combinations, SHO looked the best and provided the most detail in the nebula. The image seemed a bit soft to me, but after looking at several other examples of this target it seems that there could be something between us and the target  causing this "softening" of the details. I may be completely wrong in this assumption but it is present in many images out there. Anyway, I'm happy with the final result and the performance of of the 533MM. I was worried about the square frame, but just being more careful with target selection will allow it to work just fine.

Thanks for looking.
