Description

What a fun target!  Unimaginable how this cloud of Oiii took this shape and is just floating around out there.  I purposely went weak in the processing of the Ha as my focus was on the squid.  Truly an amazing looking object.

I first mistyped the title as “the Flying But and Squid Nebula”!  🤪  The squid does kind of look like a butt plug 😂, but I haven’t made out the bat yet.  Guess I need more Ha to discern.  Imaged from a dark site, Amboy Crater and then Mohave Desert National Preserve BLM at the Boulders.  (Amboy was too noise with the freight trains all night and then the lights for other RV's)   I also imaged with my 102GT and OSC camera on these same nights.  I hope to get to processing that soon…for another comparison between the 2600MM to 2600MC with Antlia dual narrowband.  But going to Germany in a couple of days…maybe process on the airplane.

Oh, this is an HOO image with color normalized and 90% green removed.
