Description

This beautiful, chaotic spiral galaxy is located 80 million light years away in the constellation of Pisces at a declination of +13 degrees.  It is a magnitude 11.6 galaxy which spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view. This corresponds to a diameter of 80,000 light years.  From our view perspective, the disk is inclined about halfway between face-on and edge-on.

The galaxy core appears faintly barred to me.   The arms are ill defined.  I see 4 fragmented arms but they are hard to trace.  My favorite part is the numerous blue star clouds, mainly visible on the lower left side of the disk.

This galaxy has been imaged a few times before on Astrobin, mainly because of a bright supernova here in 2020.  As expected, that supernova is no longer visible in my image.
