Description

Searching around for a target that I could run most of the night on narrowband came across this little critter PK220-53.1... also NGC 1360, also known as the Robin's Egg Nebula, a planetary nebula in the constellation of Fornax. Reddish matter, believed to have been ejected from the original star before its final collapse, is visible clearly to the left, but also I think traces at right.

We dont get Robin's where I live, but reckon it looks more like a duck egg...a broken one.

Imaged mainly in HOO at 300s exposures, with around an hour of RGB for stars at 45s exp.

Stacked and processed in APP, Startools and finished in PS.

My first attempt at a planetary nebual after the Helix which is much bigger, brighter and bolder. Still it's fun to see some structure here - the extra focal length of my Meade 12 helps.
