Description

Sonnenflecken / Sun Spots - 20211222

Today's seeing is again a little better than it was yesterday and the whole week before. All yesterday's active regions (AR) are still in sight, and moved further right due to sun rotation. Some of the former left side located ARs became more apparent over the last 24hrs. Also, a bigger sunspot with a smaller companion enters the stage lover left. It must have been "just around the corner" yesterday.

So while at this early point in time in the current 25th sunspot cycle there is still a lack of really large active regions with huge sunspots, the amount and widespread distribution of today's sunspots is great to observe and photograph.

Today I took 150 full frame photos (20mb+ each) and used them all.

Please consider comparing my result with NASA's continuum photo from this same day.

Capture time was 111114h to 111229h CET.
