Description

Two open clusters in the same field of view towards Perseus. I first imagined that they might be in a gravitational dance around each other but I'm not sure that is the case after reading about their distances from earth. NGC 7790 (left) is approximately 10,000 light years distant and NGC 7788 (right) is thought to be closer at 8,000 light years. This field of view is roughly 1/2 a degree or the angular size of the full moon.
