Description

First light for the second rig.

iOptron Tri-pier / iOptron CEM60 #1, asiAir Pro #1, Askar FMA230

I have had a second CEM20 for years but there was something wrong with it out of the box and I never bothered to send it back to iOptron.  Last year I sent it here instead.

It took 3 times as long to fix it as they said it would and it was not cheap, but wow was it worth it.  I got 5 minute subs with perfect stars unguided in a test and the whole thing is much more quiet and smoother than before.
I ran the rig  for this image on the old mount with my phone looking in the south sky while standing beside the Air Pro, and shot Medusa in the north using my iPad over Ethernet at roughly the same time.  Medusa had the refurbed mount and guided using the asiAir Pro in below average seeing at .38, while this mount guided with a Pro at around 1.00.

Mostly I am disappointed that there are no plate solve icons for the Boogy Man...
