Description

December was a very productive month for imaging in Central Victoria, with 2 hour slots across 19 short clear nights available for this beautiful object. Our nights are truly dark for just 6 hours in mid summer.

NGC1763 is an emission nebula and embedded star cluster in the LMC. It is about 163,000 light-years away in the southern constellation Dorado. James Dunlop observed and cataloged this part of the sky from Parramatta, west of Sydney in 1826.
