Description

Taken over several clear and partially clear nights from April 3rd onwards, LRGBHa. I've struggled with this one despite using up my allocation of clear nights and processing time the main issue was noise in the colour channels which isn't dealt with too well in this version but here it is anyway! A new camera may soon make life easier on the noise front

M106 was discovered by Charles Messier’s observing assistant, Pierre Méchain, in 1781. It is located 24 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici. M106 has a relatively bright apparent magnitude of 9.1 (from the Hubblesite)
