Description

The Little P pinwheel is located in the constellation Ursa Major. Although its magnitude is 9.6, it is difficult to distinguish its structure. Its visual diameter ionly 7 minutes. It contains two HII regions, called NGC 3180 and NGC 3181. It has contained several supernovae. Its spiral arms have a beautiful blue color due to bright young stars, not very numerous. I have tried to respect this color. For this, the Ha shots have participated above all in the luminance, and to a lesser degree in the color using a high contrast Ha master. I wanted the galaxy to be the absolute protagonist of the photograph and I programmed a long total exposure. Despite this, it was difficult to obtain details. The total initial exposure time was 23 hours and 52 min, but I was very demanding in the selection, and finally used 14 h and 39 min of shots in L, R, G, B and Ha.
