Description

Taken during nearly full moon close by (always the way on cloudless nights!) from my North London Bortle 7 garden with Edge HD 8 with focal reducer on an AVX, ASI2600 MC Pro, Optolong l-Pro broadband filter, guided with Lacerta.

The Triangulum Galaxy (M33) is a spiral galaxy 2.73 million ly from Earth in the constellation Triangulum. The Triangulum Galaxy is the third-largest member of the Local Group of galaxies, behind the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way. The galaxy is the smallest spiral galaxy in the Local Group, just 60% of the size Milky Way with 10% of the number of stars (40 billion). It is believed to be a satellite of the Andromeda Galaxy or on its rebound into the latter due to their interactions.  It also has an H II nucleus.
