Description

Sh2-232 is associated with a giant molecular cloud, G174+2.15, in the Perseus arm of the Milky Way.  It is located in the direction of the Auriga constellation at an approximate distance of 5,900 light-years from the Earth.  A point of interest is a small "fuzzy" spot just above the central star in Sh2-232.  This feature is identified as the planetary nubula, PN G173.5+03.2.
