Description

This nebula was discovered in 1745....that's over 40 years before Australia was discovered by Captain Cook! The Omega nebula is one of the largest star forming regions in our Milky Way. You can actually see this with a pair of binoculars on a clear night. Gasses and dust fill this region and the gas cluster pocket on the right (bat cave) is so enormous that it is estimated to be over 10 times our solar system. I have used the Hubble NASA pallet for this one to bring out the different Sulphur, Oxygen and Hydrogen gases.
