Description

LDN673 dark cloud in Aquila The summer Milky Way hides many small and large dark nebulae. Many of which were identified and recorded by Beverly T. Lynds in 1962. LDN673 (Lynds' Dark Nebula 673) is one such dense, dark cloud complex, located a few hundred (300-600) light-years away from Earth in the constellation Aquila. The object is about 7 light-years wide. In addition to LDN673, the photo also shows other dark nebulae recorded by Beverly T. Lynds so LDN676, LDN677 and LDN767. This image can be viewed at the Star Images 2023 Hungarian astrophoto exhibition in Budapest in the Hungarian Natural History Museum.
