Description

I captured this shortly after my first test of this new imaging train configuration with mv TEC140 (5.5") refractor, 4x Barlow and MC533MC camera.  (See Camel's Eye Nebula up close image)

I was time limited on this one and had just over an hour to get would I could, but wanted to see what I could manage with that amount of time against M1 at this scale.  (My last time imaging M1 was ~15 or so years ago using a DSLR that was not astro ready,  so I was LONG overdue to re-visit this object!)

I have to say I think for 70 minutes of total exposure time at FL 3920 (980mm x 4) this turned out reasonably well!   I would very much like to revist it again, hopefully soon if the weather cooperates, and do a deeper multi-hour capture to reduce the noise and tease out more subtle detail.
