Description

Another capture from Sunday night! This is the central part of the California Nebula (NGC1499) in Perseus. I collected this same object in February 2021 and quite disappointingly I used the wrong spacing for the coma corrector-to-sensor distance, resulting in horrible astigmatism, coma (of course) and reflections on the brightest stars:

Quite interestingly the wrong spacing also provided a zooming factor, something I didn't notice at the time. After acquiring this fresh data for the California Nebula I was pleasantly surprised to realise that with the right spacing the field of view it's wider, resulting in about 75% of the nebula fitting into the picture!
