Description

The propeller Nebula is in the constellation of Cygnus. The distance to the nebula is unknown. As is how the nebula is formed.  It is one of the few objects whose distance from us is still unknown, although recent studies conclude that it is a fairly nearby object. 

 Its proper designation is Simeis 57, this reference is from a Crimean Joiurnle entry by Gaze and Shaj in the 1950s.
