Description

The Sunflower Galaxy (M63) is a spiral galaxy approximately 27 million light-years away in Canes Venatici. It has no central bar and moderately wound arms, and is an example of a flocculent galaxy (as opposed to a grand-design spiral galaxy with better defined arms).

M63 is believed to contain about 400 million stars. It is part of the M51 Galaxy Group.

This image is in LRGBHa. It was taken over 6 nights most of which had issues with cloud.
