Description

Jupiter in good seeing at 13° elevation. Composite of three 180s exposures, derotated and merged in WinJUPOS. A storm in the northern equitorial band visible. Also three oval white spots in the southern region visible - a first for my small scope.

Workflow for final revision: AS!3 for stacking (20%, no drizzle), Registax for color balance and mild sharpening, WinJUPOS for derotation and merging, AstroSurface for deconvolution and Registax again for final sharpening and denoise. Composition and color tuning in Affinity Photo.

Workflow for revision B: Stacking in AS!3 (x2 4500 frames, 1x 2500 frames), then color balance and deconvolution and slight wavelet sharpening on pixels layers 1 & 2 in PixInsight, the derotation and combination in WinJUPOS and final sharpening and denoise in RegiStax. Composition in Affinity Photo.

I prefer a mild sharpening even if it means that some details are not as clear as possible. If I sharpen more, I severely dislike the color balance due to the strong contrasts.
